Eagles netters defeat Braves
By Jerry W. Kram
The New Town Eagles traveled down Highway 23 to take on their perennial rivals, the Parshall Braves, and came home with a three set to zero victory. The Braves were able to make the match interesting at the end, but the final scores were 25-11, 25-15 and 27-25 in favor of the Eagles.
“Parshall is our rival so we always have a good match against them,” said Eagles Head Coach Dyan Fox. “
The Eagles jumped out to an early lead in the first set, taking the first seven points. The Braves firmed up their return game after that but weren’t able to get closer than five points for the rest of the set. The teams mostly traded side outs until the scored read 16-11 in favor of the Eagles. Payton Brady then served nine consecutive points, giving the Eagles the set by a score of 25-11.
