Eagles netters squeak past Braves
By Jerry W. Kram
With District Tournaments just two weeks away, the Parshall Braves traveled to New Town for a District 15 showdown. The Braves pushed the Eagles to the limit, but in the end it was the Eagles claiming the victory in the five set match, 3-2.
“It seems like the girls always try to do it the hard way,” said Eagles Head Coach Dyan Fox. “We met Parshall earlier in the season and getting them again later in the season is good for us.”
“Our girls worked hard,” said Braves Head Coach Misti Myrhe. “We need to work on getting more good serves. Our serves just didn’t want to cooperate tonight.”
Parshall opened up the first lead of the match in the first game going up 9-6 and then expanding their lead to 15-9. The Eagles slowly nibbled away at the lead to pull within two at 20-18. The Braves go the ball an served out the match 25-18.
