Fouls sink Braves in OT
Second half comeback falls short

The Parshall Lady Braves came out cold in the championship game of the Region 8 Girls Basketball Tournament. But they poured on the offense in the third quarter to force the Watford City Wolves into overtime, where free throws decided the game. The Wolves would get 11 of their 15 overtime points from the line to win the game 70-63.
The Lady Braves shot poorly in the first half, sinking just 21 percent of their field goals, including going 0 for 7 from three point range. They were 50 percent from the free throw line, sinking 8 of 16. The Wolves defense concentrated on shutting down Cheyenne Packineau in the post, holding her to two baskets on seven attempts. Kiara Packineau and Michelle Risan also struggled in the half. Both were just 1 for 7 in the first half. The Lady Braves scored 10 points in each of the first two quarters. Kiara Packineau led the team with 5 first half points.
On the defensive end of the court, the Mogen sisters, Amanda and Katie were hard to stop. Combined they were 7 of 14 with five free throws and 20 points. The Wolves outrebounded the Lady Braves 32-20 in the half. The Wolves led the Lady Braves 16-10 after the first quarter and 34-20 at the half.
