Parshall Braves bounce back from recent losses

The Parshall Braves’ record dropped to 5-7 after losses to North Shore Plaza and 10th ranked Des Lacs-Burlington going into Monday’s game against the Divide County Maroons. The Braves used some stifling defense to jump out to a quick lead and come away with a 15 point victory, 67-52.
The Braves had a balanced scoring attack with four players in double figures. Dean Foote led the team with 15 points and Monte Goodbird, Justin Roberts, and Jade Moran contributing 14, 13, and 12 points respectively.
“Our boys needed this,” said Coach Dusty Olson. “They’ve had so many tough breaks. Our team is young right now, but I’ve had a lot of compliments from different coaches. I see a pretty positive outlook here the next couple of years.”
It was the Braves defense that made the difference in the second quarter as the Maroons were held to just five points while Parshall scored 20. That made the halftime score a lopsided 39-17. The Braves held a 19 point edge after three quarters and Coach Olson freely substituted his bench in the fourth quarter. The Braves held on for a 15 point victory, 67-52.
