On paper Trenton and Parshall are evenly matched.
On the floor Trenton and Parshall were evenly matched.
Both teams see-sawed through the first two games of their District 15 tilt Monday night in New Town until the Tigers opened it up in the final game to take the opening round match 3-0.
Parshall took an early, 5-2 lead in the first game behind Ashley Brugh’s serves. But Trenton chipped away at that lead, cutting the Parshall lead to 9-8 and then tying the game at 13.
The teams continued their tight contest with Trenton barely hanging on to its one-point edge. The Lady Braves came back to tie it at 18 on a Rayessa Odermann ace, but that was as close as Parshall would come in game 1 as Trenton then took a 21-19 lead and following a long volley, won the game, 25-22.
The second game was almost like the first with Trenton building up an early lead of 9-3 when Lady Braves head coach Rebecca Kollman called time. That regrouped the girls as they chiseled away at the Tiger lead coming to within two points at 15-14 and 18-16.
