Parshall upends Eagles netters

By Jerry W. Kram

The Parshall Braves volleyball team upended the New Town Eagles in a Highway 23 rivalry game on Thursday, Sept. 18, but Eagles Coach Dyan Fox was proud that her girls were able to force the Braves into a fourth game.

"That was our first four game match in the last two years," Fox said. "Last year we were a young team that won just two games. This year we have a whole different crew who is working really hard. We’re trying to make adjustments as we get to the middle of the season. So going four sets is really a push for the girls."

The Braves dominated the first game of the evening 25-9, taking advantage of their superior height and leaping ability at the net. Cheyenne Packineau has nine kills in the match while high flying Michelle Risan had six. Packineau and Risan also led the team in digs with 12 and 10 respectively. Jordon Young led the team in assists with 15.
