Super’ gets satisfactory marks

By Stu Merry

Garrison Superintendent Steve Brannan received high marks from board members during his formal evaluation Tuesday night. Six evaluations were returned.
Reviewing the forms, Board President Duane Hummel observed that Brannan received overwhelming “satisfactory” ratings with one unsatisfactory mark being noted.
The unsatisfactory mark and category was left unaddressed as board members agreed it was better to allow Brannan to review the evaluations prior to any discussion. The board also agreed that the matter should be handled between the board member and Brannan at a separate time.
Board member Steve Seidler praised Brannan for his service.
“I think you are doing a great job,” he told Brannan. “You handle a lot of different things, and it’s tough to balance everything and keep everybody happy … keep up the good work.”
The lone form unreturned was from board member Jerry Sayler.
Areas for performance evaluation include relationship with the school board, relationship with the community, and relationship with students and parents.
