The Corps of Engineers Omaha district commander, Col. Robert J. Ruch, along with other Corps officials, met with a group of more than 20 individuals this past Thursday at Indian Hills Resort west of Garrison.
The visit served as an opportunity for residents and business operators from around Lake Sakakawea to sit down across the table from those who make decisions – decisions that affect the viability and well-being of the lake – and ultimately those who benefit from it.
Katie Schenk, chief of operations for the Corps’ Omaha District, said Corps officials were amazed at all the development around the lake.
Talking about what the lake offers, Schenk observed, “You have jewels here … it’s absolutely gorgeous.”
