Eagles blow out Kenmare Honkers
By Jerry W. Kram
The New Town Eagles Boys Basketball team enjoyed their return to their home court with a dominating 74-43 victory over the defending Region 8 champions Kenmare Honkers.
The Honkers were able to dominate in the paint in the opening minutes of the game and jumped out to an 8-2 lead. The Eagles bounced back quickly with buckets from Kolby Overlie and Jordon LeBeau to take the lead 9-8 with about five minutes to go in the first quarter. The quarter ended with the Eagles barely on top 14-13.
“We’re mixing thing up,” said Eagles Head Coach Robert White. “We’ve changed up our line up about four times this year. I can’t even count how many times we’ve changed our rotations. But I think we are finally starting to solidify it.”
