New Town competed in the state Class B track meet last weekend in Bismarck, the boys scoring 21 and the girls 11.
In the boys’ division, Justin Many Ribs placed in three distance events with a
second-place finish in both the 1600 and 3200 meter runs. He finished in sixth
place in the 800-meter run to cap off an excellent meet.
Donovan Lambert ran a very good race and finished in seventh place in the 3200 meter run. The
21 points scored by these two was good for a 12th place finish in the team
race. Cole Danks also competed in the discus throw.
In the girls’ division, Shanice Lambert, Taylor McGrady, Brooke Fettig, and Jayli Fimbres placed sixth in the 3200-meter relay for a great
performance after entering the race as the 12th-seeded team. Lambert also ran to a third-place finish in the 3200 meter run. Fimbres was seventh in the
1600-meter run to finish the scoring for the Eagles girls. Also competing for the girls was Carolyn Wolf in the shot put.
