Handling the heat at Mandaree Rodeo

The Mandaree All Indian Rodeo took place last Saturday and there was plenty of hot action to go along with the intense heat, but that did not deter many fans from attending the event. Competition was also intense as ropers and riders gave their best efforts in all the events.
Shannoah Danks of Mandaree had a big day for her efforts. Danks placed first in both Ladies Barrel Racing and Junior Barrel Racing while capturing second in Junior Breakaway. The top placers in team roping were Mervin Packineau and Don Charging and for the Senior Team Roping the winning team was Clayton Danks and Don McKenzie.
Hailey Vigen also had a splendid day in the arena with a first place finish in Junior Breakaway Roping and taking first in Junior Team Roping with her roping partner Devon Bear Claw. In the Ladies Breakaway, it was Bailey Chase who won the event and in Tie Down Roping, that event champion was Jesse Chase of Mandaree.
Senior Breakaway was won by Clayton Danks and Danks also won the Senior Team Roping with his partner Donald McKenzie. In Junior Bull Riding, first place with a qualifying ride was Wesley Smith.
