New Town ends Bismarck’s Class A Cross Country streak

By Jerry W. Kram

The New Town Eagles, the Class B Boys Cross Country state champions for the last three years, laid a strong claim to earning a return to the gold medal podium by beating Class A Bismarck on their own ground at the Anderson-Stavn Meet at McDowell Dam, Bismarck.

Bismark has finished first in 78 cross country meets and hasn’t lost a meet in North Dakota since the 2004 state championship.

"The varsity boys turned in a great team effort in winning the meet over Class A Bismarck," said Head Coach Brian Anderson. "The boys ended up tied with Bismarck with 41 points each."
