Track teams open season indoors in Minot

Track teams open season indoors in Minot
New Town’s boys track team finished fifth and the girls team ninth last Thursday in the Northwest Indoor Track Meet held in the dome at Minot State University.
Despite only having four boys and four girls competing, the boys scored 40 points and the girls 29 from among the 14 teams competing.
Scoring for the boys team was Jeremy Grinnell with a first-place finish in both the 800- and 1600-meter runs, a second-place in the 400, and a fourth place in the 200. He also set a meet record of 4:54.28 in the 1600-meter run to finish an outstanding meet performance. Also placing for the Eagles were Alex Baker, fourth in the 1600-meter run and Jess Hall with a seventh place in the 1600.
