WILLISTON - On the final night of the basketball season, Baeleigh Brady did what she has done all season long, score points.
The freshman scoring sensation for the New Town Eagles sank a game high 21 points to help the Eagles defeat the Divide County Maroons 44-41, in the Region 8 third-place game in the Well at Williston State College.
As she has done numerous times throughout the regular season, Brady was the only scorer in double figures. Gabby Wilkinson hit 7 to follow, while Mia Wilkinson and Taylor McGrady each added 6. Viola Wise Spirit and LaRiah Quick Bear also got on the board.
Although Divide County took the early lead, it didn’t deter the Eagles as they kept pace through the first quarter, mostly on quick buckets by Brady, who couldn’t be stopped by the Maroons.
New Town took the edge in the second, but several attempted three-pointers fell short and the Eagles found themselves shooting a dismal percentage from three-point land.
