A changing of the guard at the clinic

There are some new faces at the Underwood Clinic these days, as three familiar faces who have a combined 24 or so years working at the clinic recently retired, or are in the process of retiring.

Lab/X-ray tech Linda Pryor and receptionist Peggy Johnson recently retired from the clinic, and nurse Patty Sigurdson has until the end of the month, and she will be done at the clinic.

Stepping into their positions are nurse Erika Levey, who will also take on lab duties, and receptionist Shanna Greene. Washburn’s Ginnie Weber will also putting in one day a week at the clinic.

Nurse practitioner Michele Leidholm says she and fellow nurse practitioner Kellie Weisenburger were a little concerned when they realized they were going to be losing three devoted employees so close together.

"We thought, ‘how are we going to get all these girls replaced’," said Leidholm.

Word-of-mouth helped the two clinicians fill the positions with their new employees pretty quickly.
