Businesses urge you to go loco Friday

By Michael Johnson, Editor

Whether you’re new to town or just never felt the urge to check out what your local business people have to offer, they hope you can find time on Friday to “Go Loco for Local.” Don’t be afraid to check out these businesses from 3 to 8 p.m. Many of the area businesses will be open with special deals, chili and costume contests. There’s even a hayride to take you to the participating businesses. The “Go Loco for Local” event is put on by the Underwood Business Alliance, a new sub-group of the Underwood Civic Club. It’s the kickoff event for the buy local campaign that these local businesses hope will drum up a little more business by inviting customers in for extended hours. Janice Cottingham at Underwood Farm Supply said the event is a great way to let the community know that the local businesses are here to serve. “I believe that customers will find out that our businesses have more than they thought – and we are always more than willing to get it if we don’t have it,” Cottingham said.
