Rounding out McLean County’s four-part series on father-son law enforcement duo’s in the county are none other than Garrison’s Arlan and Jericho Swanson.
Arlan Swanson, a law enforcement officer since 1998, who has served the last nine years in McLean County, recalls his unorthodox entry into the field.
Once a mechanic, Arlan was approached to take a law enforcement class. “It was one of those careers I always thought about as a kid but didn’t pursue it until adulthood,” he says, “Almost right away in that class though, I knew it was what I wanted to do.”
