City commission continues water drainage discussion

The solution to draining Westridge Estates during spring melting is a step closer to reality as commissioners looked over cost estimates during their regular commission meeting May 17. Dave Thompson and Harvey Schneider of Toman Engineering presented the commissioners with maps of the drainage and a detailed packet on the pump itself. At a past meeting, the engineers were directed to acquire estimates for the different options of drainage. Commissioners felt that one way was going to be the most effective and least expensive. Thompson found a pump supplier out of Fargo and he showed commissioners the type of pump he would recommend. It could be installed in one day, he said.
