City, Sayler residents meet compromise

What initially looked like it could become a lengthy heated debate simmered down pretty quickly with all parties involved in the debate seeming pretty satisfied with the outcome.
At issue was the improvements that should be made on North Sayler Street, just north of the school -- and who should pay for them.
Some of the residents who live along North Sayler Street were in attendance at Monday’s regular Underwood City Commission meeting to discuss the proposed improvements to their street.
The street, which is adjacent to the school’s bus barn,  is currently patched and chip sealed. It has taken a big hit this summer, particularly due to the use of the street by the construction companies working at the school.
It also handles a lot of water, added, the residents, most of which is runoff from the school’s roof.
