Civic Club making Go Loco ‘souper’ tasty

It’s almost time to Go Loco for Local, and members of the Underwood Civic Club are ramping things up this year for the annual walk-around.
Set for Friday, Oct. 25, the civic club members will be serving their favorite soups to the masses, who will get to vote on a People’s Choice winner as well as a winner for the Best Experience.
Go Loco started with a chili cook-off several years ago, but this year the civic club members decided it was time to offer up a little more variety.
“We just wanted to change it up,” said event co-chair Danielle Levey. Some of the business owners may still opt to serve chili if they think they’ve got a terrific recipe, but a variety of different soups is definitely on the menu.
Children and adults are encouraged to dress up in Halloween costumes as they go through the different businesses, getting into the spirit of the event. The goal of the event is to bring people into businesses they might not otherwise visit, just to let them see what the business has to offer. What ends up happening is a community that comes together for a night of family fun.
Prizes will be awarded to the best boy, girl, man and woman costumes when everyone gathers at the Underwood City Hall for the awards presentations as well as some BINGO.
