Comettes to present ‘I’m still here’

Bruno Mars, Beyoncé and Coldplay won’t be at the Vonderheide Gymnasium in Underwood this Friday, but the Underwood Comettes, and their moms and dads will be presenting a tribute to this year’s Super Bowl half-time performance.

The performance will be the finale of this year’s annual Comettes’ Home Show, "I’m Still Here."

Before that finale, though, will be a wide variety of different dance performances featuring the Comettes, the Just For Kix dancers, the Coug-Hers, the Com-Men, and a special solo performance by Anna Liu, the Comettes’ assistant coach, who wowed the audience with her performance at the Hometown Holiday show this winter.

The Comettes have been putting on a Home Show for about 20 years – so why should people keep coming, the dancers were asked.

"They should come if they want to see a variety of fun, elegant and exciting dances," said junior dancer Lindsey Landenberger.

Liu’s elegant style can be seen in the Comettes’ state jazz routine, "There, I Said It," which placed second at this year’s state dance competition.
