Commission addressing unleashed dog problem

The issue of unleashed dogs has become a topic of discussion at the Underwood City Commission.
At Monday’s regular commission meeting Underwood resident Chris Nagy addressed the commission regarding several instances he has witnessed, and others he has been told about, where unleashed dogs have left dog owners feeling threatened and scared for themselves and/or their own dogs.
Since Aug. 1, said Nagy, he and his wife Christine have experienced five incidents in which unleashed dogs have come at them while they were walking their dog on a leash – running at them from properties where they were not properly secured.
“Two of those dogs were aggressive,” said Nagy.
He also related a recent incident when he was inside his home where he heard a woman screaming for help. He ran outside to find the woman standing holding her small dog, with an aggressive dog running around her.
