Community Cupboard celebrates five years of service

The Community Cupboard (CC) of Underwood is celebrating five years of helping people to eliminate hunger in McLean County. Established in 2016 by a group of concerned citizens who saw the great need for supplemental hunger relief when the Great Plains Food Bank started a quarterly mobile food pantry stop in Underwood.
“There were literally lines of cars wrapped around our city hall building filled with people in need of food,” said current CC President Christine Pederson.
The food pantry officially opened October 28, 2016, however planning started about a year prior.
