Cougars crush Bulldogs in quarterfinal game

In Game 7 of the Region 5 basketbal l tournament quarterfinals on Monday, the Central McLean Cougars avoided the bite of the Flasher Bulldogs and instead blinded them with a 74-40 win.
The Bulldogs – who had the No. 6 seed in the region and won their respective play-in game against the Solen Sioux last Friday – took the first half of the quarter. Rylee Fleck, their sophomore guard, scored six points – a bucket, a three-pointer and a free throw, in that order – during the first five minutes, putting the Bulldogs ahead 0-6.
However, the Cougars fought back with Ashtyn Smith and Morgan Snyder correctly scoring threepointers; Snyder also made a basket 14 seconds after her three-pointer.
