County commission says wind project will come down to residents

When it comes to the state’s largest wind farm coming to McLean County, county commissioners say the ball will be in the residents’ court.
“From my perspective, the landowners are going to be the people who make any decisions regarding wind energy,” Commissioner Steve Lee said during Tuesday’s McLean County Commission meeting.
Lee, who spoke for a few minutes with visitor George Klemetsrud of Coleharbor towards the end of Tuesday’s meeting, said the development of the proposed Discovery Wind Project was dependent on landowners consenting.
