County students compete at Expo

Students from Underwood, White Shield, Washburn and Turtle Lake-Mercer-McClusky took top honors in this past Wednesday’s Entrepreneur Expo in Underwood taking home $125 in prize money as well as bragging rights to the "gold honors."

Silver and bronze award winners were also chosen at the annual entrepreneur fair, and four new awards were presented this year as well.

Taking home top honors for their overall business plan and presentation were DMS Studios from Devyn Schmitcke of Underwood, The Chilled Cow from Katelyn Presser of TLMM, and Native American Crafts from Myah Williams and Billie Jo Bearstail of White Shield.

Silver awards winners, earning a $100 prize for the business, went to Three Guys Burgers and Fries, Marshall LeRoy, Cole Tishmack and Nevada Sorenson of Underwood; Put a Sock In It, from Washburn’s Jacob Oberlander and Caleb Weisgarber; and Central Smoothies, from Underwood’s Thomas and Tony Heidelberger.

Bronze award winners, who were awarded $75 for their business, were Bakery Girls, Underwood’s Brooke Weisenberger and Danielle Halstead; Design-a-Pen, White Shield’s Aaliyah Howling Wolf; and Early Morning Duo, from Washburn’s Carly Freeman and Kaden Schulte.
