For more than five years, Courtney Blotske has been the steady hand behind Underwood’s city finances, juggling payroll, utilities and building permits with the precision of a problem-solver. Now, she’s trading the familiar rhythms of her hometown for the wide-open spaces of Wyoming.
Blotske’s husband, Dominick, accepted a lineman job with High Plains Power Inc. in Riverton, Wyoming, earlier this year, prompting the family’s move west. With their 8-month-old daughter, Wynn, and two dogs, a dachshund named Weinie and Berkley, an Australian shepherd/rough collie mix, the family has settled into what Blotske jokingly calls their “ice castle” home.
“It’s the perfect size for Weinie. He loves it,” Blotske said. “Berkley, on the other hand, might go stir crazy.”
