Equity deals with scale breakdown

If it had to break, now is probably the best time.
That’s the opinion of Turtle Lake Equity Elevator Manager Jeramie Love, as he talked about the elevator’s scale break-down.
“For something like this to happen, this is a ‘good’ time of year for that to happen,” said Love. “It’s certainly better than the middle of harvest so we have time to deal with it. It’s generally pretty slow this time of year.”
The elevator’s scale went down this past Thursday, and area farmers were immediately informed of the issue so they could make alternate plans if they were planning on selling some grain. However, Love doesn’t anticipate many farmers going elsewhere.
“Our customers are good, they’re good to work with, and they’re understanding,” said Love. “They’ll still have time to get their grain moved and get their bins empty as soon as we get up and running.”
