Fall roll call
Two area school districts reported steady fall enrollment as the 202627 school year gets underway, with Turtle LakeMercer and Underwood both posting totals in line with recent trends.
Turtle LakeMercer Public School lists 163 K12 students this fall, according to Superintendent Sheila Schlafmann. The district reports 63 students in grades K6 and 100 in grades 712, along with nine prekindergarten children. Elementary class sizes range from five kindergartners to midteens in the upper grades, while seventh and eleventh grade lead the secondary enrollment at 22 students each.
