First Midsummer Classic is Saturday

By Michael Johnson, Editor

The biggest bike and car show to hit the area will be rumbling into Underwood this Saturday during the First Midsummer Classic. While the streets will be filled with some of the hottest vehicles in the state, it doesn’t take much to step into another part of town to enjoy other festivities. The day starts out with a golf scramble at Westridge Golf Course in the morning. That afternoon you can enjoy a parade of the show cars and bikes, a car show, burn-out competition, wack-a-car fun, pork barbecue feed and street dance to end the night. The downtown will be alive with businesses open to visitors looking to see a slice of Underwood and beat the heat. The committee in charge of planning the event said that this event brings many of the businesses that are unable to get involved in other events together to put on an event to showcase Underwood to the surrounding communities. T-Bones owner and operator Scott Sackman was busy finishing up his patio to make sure he would have room for the 300 some bikers expected to be stopping by for lunch on Saturday.
