Four tornadoes confirmed in McLean County
With preliminary results still being reviewed, the National Weather Service has confirmed four tornadoes in McLean County, and an additional two in the Wing area.
On Sept. 18, the National Weather Service released information on 12 of at least 19 tornadoes reported Sept. 14.
“There remains high confidence in at least 15 tornadoes on Sept. 14, 2025,” the NWS – Bismarck released. “Although work continues to confirm the track of these and other potential tornadoes on this date.”
McLean County tornadoes include:
Southeast of Baldwin: on the ground for 5 miles from 3:50 to 3:58 p.m., which was reported by a storm chaser.
Wilton area: on the ground for 5 miles from 4:09 to 4:16 p.m., leaving some twisted debris found by the NWS survey team.
Mercer area: on the ground for 13 miles from 4:53 to 5:31 p.m., rated EF1, leaving damage to a mobile home, trees and farm outbuilding. Preliminary EF1 rotation was seen by the NWS survey team.
