Even a pandemic couldn’t stop true love. Turtle Lake’s Rachel Hanson and Trevor Thomas tied the know Saturday afternoon in front of a small group of immediate family,
celebrating their union at the old rural Ingersoll School located about two miles east of “Sayler’s corner.” Rachel and Trevor had originally planned a typical smal l - town wedding at Trinity Lutheran Church in Turtle Lake, with all of their friends and family members attending, followed by a reception with everyone invited. Then COVID-19 happened,
and instead, the couple tied the knot at the small school house in an intimate ceremony with seats for 14 guests. The old school house, built in 1885, which is on the historic register, would need some cleaning before it could be used, noted Rachel’s mom Karen, but once the idea was out there, it didn’t take long for the decision to be made that it would be perfect.
And it was, said Rachel. “I thought it was the perfect size for the 13 people that could be in the building,” said Rachel.
