Harvest Fest Aug. 13

By Michael Johnson, Editor

Dust off that straw hat and get ready for some fun in downtown Underwood. The annual Harvest Fest is coming to town Aug. 13. This year brings out something for everyone including games, food and fun all day long. 5K Run/Walk/Bike: Think you’ve got what it takes for the 5K Run/Walk/Bike? It’s not as scary as it might sound and it’s a great way to start out the day. There is a $10 registration fee that goes to Relay For Life. Those involved will meet at Pioneer Park with the race starting at 8:30 a.m. For more information on how to get registered contact Jessica Opp at 442-3808. Senior Scavenger Hunt: Those 55 and older can join in the Senior Scavenger Hunt. This hunt takes participants all around town looking for Merchant Bucks hidden in local businesses from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Parade: Who doesn’t like a good parade? Underwood has a great one to the theme of harvest that starts at 10:30 a.m. Participants line up at the school by 9:45 a.m. Preregistration is not necessary but flashy floats, loud horns and buckets of candy are encouraged.
