Harvest Fest crowd soaked

By Michael Johnson, Editor

This year’s annual Harvest Fest in Underwood was one that will likely be remembered for a much needed shower that came at an inconvenient time. The Underwood Civic Club sponsored event didn’t bring out nearly the numbers that it has in the past likely due to cloud covered skies that dropped rain on the event shortly after the parade and on through nightfall. Even so, the outdoor games adored by the many Harvest Fest goers were still played by many hard-core players. Some of the tasks involve getting wet, so the rain really didn’t cause a problem there. A quick decision by civic club members was made to cancel the inflatable games, the horse shoe tournament and the tractor pull. The street dance was moved into the Underwood City Hall and had a decent turnout.
