Harvest Fest fills the streets with fun

By Michael Johnson, Editor

The Underwood Harvest Fest brought in kids young and older to take part in the many activities on Saturday. If you missed it, you missed hundreds of Quest-goers throwing eggs, water balloons and cheese balls. There was free food, opportunities to visit area businesses that were open during the day and plenty of time to huddle up with old friends to catch up. Saturday was a bit cool with moments of rain in the morning, which caused some events to start up a little later than scheduled but everything eventually came together. "The weather was a challenge, but I think overall everyone had a good time," event organizer Jane Rademacher said. "The rain kind of delayed the Quests and had us scrambling for a while." In the end all events were well attended. The alumni basketball game on Thursday had a good crowd and plenty of action from alumni. The Comet Kids Golf Scramble on Friday had 18 teams playing, which is twice the amount as years past. The money raised went to the Comet Kids Daycare of Underwood.
