Hunters find wing-shooter ‘Mecca’

We always appreciate the things we don’t have.

For the locals, seeing farmland and wide open spaces isn’t a big deal.

For out-of-staters, the Underwood area offers those things, plus a lot more.

A group of hunters from Sylacauga, Alabama (just outside of Birmingham) that was staying in the area this week doesn’t often see the vast open spaces that are commonplace in North Dakota.

The hunters also don’t see back home the number of ducks, geese and pheasants they see when they’re around here either.

Getting up at 4:00 in the morning is a small price to pay for being able to have the chance to bag their limit of birds each day – ducks and geese in the morning, pheasants in the afternoon.
