By Michael Johnson, Editor

The displays are in place. The doors are open. It’s up to you to come on in and learn about the vast history of food in America and North Dakota at the Smithsonian traveling exhibit “Key Ingredients.” This exhibit is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. and Sundays 1 to 3 p.m. in the Underwood City Hall. Visitors started coming to view the displays on Sunday. The displays include wonderful histories of the food that we eat. It tells of why we eat, what we eat and it teaches us what we get out of that food. The brilliantly colored displays draw you in and the interactive knobs and hinges get you to really learn more about our foods. This Sunday you’ll even get a taste of what the specials of area eateries include at the “Tantalizing Taste Buds” event from 5 to 7 p.m. Letters have gone out to all area restaurants to get them to come and show off some of their regional favorite foods.
