Looking back on 2014 - a year in review

The year in review-January

Underwood city commissioners were taken aback when they got their first estimate of what installing streets and sewer might be for the proposed industrial park on the northeast edge of Underwood, ranging from the minimum of $540,000 to $1.35 million for just the mile-long street, with an additional $80,000 for a conventional sewer system.

Readers of the Underwood News were stunned to read that Katie Jones, who had been editor of the paper for a few short weeks, passed away in her sleep Dec. 30.

Companies and individuals that had credit with Falkirk Farmers Elevator may get some relief as the Public Service Commission voted to recommend to pay 80 percent of any valid credit sale claimed through its office.
