Main Street spruce-up starting soon

Turtle Lake’s main street will be getting some sprucing up soon as funds from the Community Services Grant the city was awarded will be dispersed to the four businesses that will be getting funds from the grant.
Monday night at the Turtle Lake City Commission meeting, auditor Darwin Saari noted that while several businesses applied for grant funds to do some improvements to their storefronts, only four were chosen to receive grant funds. Those businesses are Main Street Market, Rust’s Hardware, Turtle Lake Tax Services and J. Arthur’s Flowers and Gifts.
“Hopefully we can get some things going here in the near future,” said Saari, adding that he anticipates more grant funds will be made available in the future, and other businesses might be able to benefit from those if Turtle Lake is chosen to receive funds again.
One contractor will be hired to oversee all of the projects, he noted, with several subcontractors working on the various improvements.
