Mission to Minot
Bismarck to Minot is about 100 miles.
Bismarck runner Chris Skorheim and his brother-inlaw Rob Zafke recently spent the night in Underwood, right between the two cities – as they made their way down the highway on a three-day-100 journey.
Chris had been training to run in his first marathon, the Fargo Marathon, which ended up being canceled due
to COVID-19. He was still determined to challenge himself with a major run, so he decided to take on the
challenge of running from Bismarck to Minot with a twofold goal.
His first goal was to raise funds to help his cousin Jeff with the medical bills he’s dealing with as he battles
a rare form of ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). He also took on the challenge to run 100 miles in celebration of
what would have been his grandfather’s 100th birthday on Sept. 7.
