The Turtle Lake City Commission had a pretty light agenda to get through at its Jan. 13 meeting, one of the highlights of the meeting coming in the information that the city had one ticket issued the last quarter of 2019. A driver was cited for driving without his/her license with them, a $20 violation.
In other business, the commissioners briefly discussed the possibility of purchasing some new stacking chairs for the city hall, to be used when meetings are held at the hall in the former Tiny Turtles Daycare area.
The former daycare center will probably be used for different meetings local groups will hold, and the library plans onw using it for some of its events as well. City auditor DarwinSaari indicated most of the daycare equipment is still in the building, but will be removed shortly, and the space should be available for rent for other events.
The city is currently bringing several community leaders together to work on its strategic plan.  The strategic planning committee recently went through the surveys that were returned, with 77 respondents.
