New additions in the public library

By Michael Johnson, Editor

The Underwood Library has added some new inventory recently that allows visitors to stop in for more than just a good read. The library recently brought in a TV so visitors can view the Underwood Access Channel and see what’s going on in the community. "Those who do not get cable TV through Midcontinent can now keep up with events in town," Underwood librarian Harmony Higbie said. "This is the completion of one of the Horizon Program goals." The Horizons program was a program that a group of Underwood residents, including Higbie, joined to learn about becoming community leaders to reduce poverty in the community. The addition of the access channel to the library is another way to help keep the community members informed and build awareness on community priorities.
