Northland Health Centers names Rachel Thomas as next CEO
The board of directors of Northland Health Centers has selected Rachel Thomas, the organization’s chief financial officer, to become its next chief executive officer when current CEO Nadine Boe retires in January 2027.
The announcement was made by the board July 16 as part of a planned leadership transition, through a press release sent out Aug. 3.
Thomas has served as Northland Health Centers’ CFO since 2020 and has been with the organization for the past 12 years.
Board President David Aas credited Boe’s leadership for helping grow the organization since she became CEO in 2019.
“Nadine’s retirement will mark the end of an extraordinary era of leadership,” Aas said in a statement. “The Board is confident that Northland’s future is in capable hands.”
According to the organization, Thomas began her career with Northland Health Centers in 2014 as a financial assistant. She later served as an accountant before being promoted to chief financial officer. During her tenure, she has led financial and operational initiatives, including efforts related to state investment in federally qualified health centers, implementation of major technology systems and management of federal funding and regulatory requirements.
