People pull together to reopen a restaurant

By Alyssa Schafer

Teamwork was what everyone had in mind during last week’s "Stone Soup" meeting. Thankfully, several different parties were willing to add something to the pot. More than 30 community members attended last week’s meeting, which focused on finding new owners for some of Underwood’s businesses. The agenda included the restaurants, the lumberyard, the hardware store and a possible thrift store. The restaurant was the main talking point of the evening. Participants separated into four groups to discuss a solution to the issue. Both Grandma’s Place and BobKat’s Cafe are for sale, leaving Underwood without a restaurant. With hunting season starting, there is a sense of urgency to reopen at least one of the restaurants.
