The tables and chairs are in, the flat screens are in place, the anxiously-awaited bar made from reclaimed barn wood is in, the staff is ready to roll – all the place needs now is some customers, and those will be coming soon.

The owners of the Rusted Rail Bar and Grill along US Highway 83 at Underwood plan on having a very soft opening for the newest restaurant/sports bar in Underwood, inviting some family and friends to check out the place and the service this Thursday; and if things go well, owners Brandon Sem and Landen Lauf plan to open the restaurant for the public this coming Monday for the lunch crowd.

Thursday’s service to friends and family will give the owners the opportunity to see what needs to be tweaked a bit before opening for the public, noted Sem.

When the restaurant opens, he added, the restaurant will serve a limited menu of appetizers and burgers. Once things are running smoothly, the rest of the full dinner menu will be added, which will include the restaurant’s own homemade battered walleye, as well as other Rusted Rail specialties.
