School board approves $113,130 parking lot resurfacing
The Turtle Lake-Mercer School Board approved spending $113,130.16 to resurface the school parking lot during its Aug. 17 regular meeting.
According to meeting minutes, Superintendent Sheila Schlafmann presented information about the proposed project before the board voted unanimously to approve it. Board members Rick Britton, Jason Sparrow, Wagner and Ruffo voted in favor of the motion.
The board also approved salary lane changes for three educators. Kailee Wyman was placed at Step 5, Lane 7, with a salary of $50,567; Abby Schumann was placed at Step 18, Lane 4, with a salary of $55,867; and Leah Anderson was placed at Step 5, Lane 2, with a salary of $47,667. The salary changes received unanimous approval.
In other financial business, the board approved a budget amendment of $1,038.19, an increase of $96. The motion also passed unanimously.
FFA adviser Kiley Kvamme and Shane Giedd reviewed travel plans for the 2026-27 school year and requested permission to use school transportation. The board is expected to vote on the transportation request at its September meeting.
