School starts Wednesday; new teachers on board

By Suzanne Werre, BHG News Service

The new bulletin boards are going up, the lesson plans are being made, and the new pencils and tablets (the kind you write in and the kind you do research on) are being purchased as teachers and students prepare to return to school next Wednesday. Superintendent Dick says he’s ready to start the new school year, anticipating about the same number of students as there were last year. “I know we lost a family or two, but we’ve gained some. When it’s all said and done, I think we’ll end up pretty well to where we were at last year,” said Dick. School secretary Judy Binkley says she doesn’t even have a good estimate as to how many students will be attending Underwood School this year as a lot of families didn’t register last week and will be coming in to register in the next week. Two new teachers have been added to the staff this year.
