Small items, big impact

A class project at Turtle Lake-Mercer High School is turning into an opportunity for students to make a direct difference in their community.
Juniors Kendal Lelm, Cambree Schlafmann and Eleanor Carlson are organizing a community-wide hygiene drive to benefit the Lord’s Pantry in Turtle Lake. The project is part of their Community Development class, where students are challenged to identify a need in the community and work to address it.
Carlson first suggested the idea, and the three classmates joined forces to bring it to life.
