Spencer takes reins of EDC

Wendy Spencer knows a lot of people are hoping she will bring new businesses to the vacant storefronts in downtown Underwood.
And that’s okay. She hopes to do that, too.
But she also considers it her job, as Underwood’s new economic developer, to help maintain and improve the current businesses in Underwood.
"Actually, that’s what I’m here for. I’m here to help assist," said Spencer, who took over the economic development position after the departure of Common Enterprise’s Tyler Demars.
She wants to let people know what is terrific about Underwood, the things that are great that are already here, and the terrific potential there is.
