Streets, sidewalks on city’s ‘might do’ list

The city approved a change order and payment #10 for the nearly-finished floodwater project, doling out $58,900 to Weisz Engineering and $174,000 to Moore Engineering at Wednesday’s meeting, moving another step closer to an actual finished floodwater project.

There are several items that Weisz and Sons have on a spring-time to-do punch list, noted Moore Engineer-ing’s Dave Wicke, including sod and seed, some areas of concrete that they need to replace as well as asphalt that needs to be replaced.

"If we get a good spring and a good stretch of weather in the spring, three weeks," said Wicke.

The city has to have "substantial completion" of the project to be able to get its grant funding from the state, he added, unsure of when the city will be able to obtain its grant portion from the state.

City Auditor Diane Schell noted the city is still under the original contract estimate for the project by $34,000.
